Tonight was a tale of two halves. Our start to the match exhibited a higher level of intensity than in the past, we held tough for roughly ten minutes. Fairborn snuck in a few awkward goals that caught our team off-guard. Unfortunately for us, our foot came off the pedal which allowed for Fairborn to continue their aggressive attacks and their success to score.
At halftime, the girls were visibly frustrated, upset, and unhappy, as they should be. Our team had a moment of clarity to recognize the importance of capitalizing on our mistakes to make the necessary improvements to support a higher level of success on the field. We began the second half holding Fairborn scoreless while creating several attacking opportunities which finally alleviated the stress on our backline. Two goals skated through but as a whole, our team played with a sense of urgency and more intensity that were absent from our play in the first half of play.
We look forward to a week off from competitive matches to best prepare for our second away match of the season at Tippecanoe next Wednesday!
